Jeremy’s Heroes is a nearly 10-year-old non-profit that has given hundreds of children and young athletes opportunities in sports they otherwise would not have had while asking them to do something in return: give back to their communities by performing service projects in their schools and neighborhoods. It’s a relatively small, grassroots organization based in New York that its namesake would have loved, if only he could have known about it. Read the rest of this entry »

DALLAS, August 24, 2011 – A few weeks ago as I drove a Kia Sorento, I kept noticing all the crossover models alongside me, like the Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Equinox, Mazda CX-7, Subaru Forester, and the Toyota RAV4. As I looked at them, I couldn’t help but believe that the Sorento is one of the best-looking crossovers on the road. Read the rest of this entry »

For the third year in a row, various shops from coast to coast and online retailers will be participating in Fashion’s Night Out on Sept. 8. Timed to coincide with the kickoff of Fashion Week in New York — the presentation of designers’ collections for next spring and summer — it is the fashion industry’s equivalent of the fall county fair. Cheney accused Rick Perry of using “over-the-top” rhetoric, chided Michele Bachmann for overpromising on the campaign trail and said that Jon Huntsman’s views on Afghanistan hew too closely to President Obama’s. Read the rest of this entry »

Reader’s Digest is taking an up-close and stupid look at… well… stupid — especially our dumbest politicians, celebrities and criminals.
Take Jessica Simpson here, for example.
Just don’t take oral hygiene advice from her.
“I don’t brush my teeth. No, really! I just use Listerine — and sometimes I’ll use my sweater,” she said.

Honda’s new-for-2011 CBR600F brings an iconic name back to the middleweight class – but does it live up to its illustrious forbears?
Where the original CBRs were market-leading supersports in their own right, the new version has already come in for some stick for being essentially a mildly tweaked and facelifted existing old model – the Hornet CB600F. Read the rest of this entry »
